Belpre Award

 
The Newbery Award is awarded annually for the most distinguished American children's book published.

Batchelder Award

The Batchelder Award is awarded annually to an American publisher for a children's book considered to be the most outstanding of those books originally published in a foreign language in a foreign country, and subsequently translated into English and published in the United States.

Caldecott Award

The Caldecott Medal is awarded annually to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.

Wilder Award

The Wilder Award honors an author or illustrator whose books, published in the United States, have made, over a period of years, a substantial and lasting contribution to literature for children.

Carnegie

The Carnegie Medal is awarded annually to honor outstanding video productions for children.

Young Readers


California Young Reader Medal
Young people suggest the names of favorite books for nomination, or teachers and librarians note repeatedly read or requested titles, and these are submitted to the California Young Reader Medal Committee. Members of the committee read the suggested books, discuss their merits and appeal to children, and then decide upon a well-balanced list of nominees.
