    Who Can Attend?

    • High School students who need credit recovery. Students should work with their counselors.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
     
     
    How many days may my student miss from class?
    District policy is that in order to earn credit, students may accumulate no more than one (1) absence during each session of summer school.
     
    Do tardies count toward absence?
    Yes. Three (3) tardies are considered an absence.
     
    What if we want to plan a vacation?
    Plan your vacation around summer school sessions. Again, district policy states that in order to earn credit, students may accumulate no more than one (1) absence during each session of summer school. There are no exceptions.
     
    Does my student have to attend the first and/or last day of summer school?
    Yes. Students that do not attend on the first day may be dropped from class in order to make room for someone on the waiting list. Students are also required to attend the last day of class to complete the class and receive credit.
     
    Is there a dress code for summer school?
    The Board of Trustees believes that appropriate student dress is necessary in order to maintain order, provide a safe and productive learning environment and promote discipline. Dress that draws undue attention to or detracts from the educational process is unacceptable. Shoes are to be worn at all times. Hats, bare midriffs, spaghetti straps and inappropriate shorts are not allowed. Students in violation will be sent home or asked to call a parent to bring appropriate attire.
     
    May I bring a visitor to class with me?
    No. Visitors are not allowed during school hours.
     
    Will I receive a notification in the mail to confirm my registration?
    No. The only communications sent will be if a class is canceled or you are placed on a waiting list. Grades will be posted at the site and online. Report cards will NOT be mailed home.
     
    How will I know if my student is in the class?
    If you do not hear anything, assume your student is in class. Class lists will be posted on the Friday before classes start.
